6 Easy Ways to Free Up RAM

Random Access Memory (RAM) does the work of controlling processes in your computer. More the RAM higher the process controlled. And also it is volatile meaning able to loose its content once you shutdown the PC. Since it controls process in your computer it has a significant impact on system performance.

Even though RAM is much faster in handling processes still it can make the computer slowdown  if it is insufficient in RAM space. Even basic processes such as Microsoft word and paint uses considerable amount of RAM space. There are some processes that consume tremendous amount of RAM resources. If your system doesn't contain enough of the RAM, these processes use Virtual memory in place of the actual RAM.This should eventually slowdown your PC. The best way to restore its speed is by freeing up the RAM space.

In this article, I will be concentrating on the 6 Easy Ways to Clean PC Memory. From this post, you will know how to clear up physical memory on the operating systems such as Windows 10.

Let's get started,

1. Add More RAM

Most efficient way to increase RAM memory is by upgrading the total RAM in your system. Overall performance of the computer will be faster when you install more RAM. By adding more RAM total RAM space will be shared, thus more of the programs will be able to be handled. Upgrading the RAM is pretty easy in both desktop and the laptops. However you have to ensure that you buy the correct RAM model. Because incompatible RAM will not be supporting the system.

2. Uninstall Unnecessary Applications

Programs that you install long time back sit on your computer without your knowledge. Those kind of applications which are not needed consume space on the RAM. Some programs even launch automatically whenever you start the computer. One of the best ways to check those programs is by using the task manager. Examine those programs and spend time in uninstalling them.

3. Scan for Malwares

Apart from Malwares causing potential damages to the system, they can also steal resources from the RAM. There is a malware known as Fileless malware which directly infects the RAM memory. Due to its presence in the RAM, it makes the system difficult to identify them. Therefore it is worth scanning with an Anti Virus software to remove malwares off your computer.

4. Try Different Browsers

Not all the browsers has the same impact on the system performance. Some web browsers take large
amount of RAM memory than the others. Browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are efficient in managing memory. Therefore try different browsers and check whether they cut down the RAM space.

And also unnecessarily opened browser tabs too takes up RAM. This is because all of the contents in the tabs are stored inside the RAM memory. That is the reason why pages are instantly shown once you click them. Therefore also close the unnecessarily opened browser tabs that you don't need.

5. Disable Visual Effects

Windows is equipped with fancy Visual effects. Even though these visual effects are eye catching, they can take considerable amount of space in the RAM. Generally it is not an issue with computers with high RAM. However for the system with low RAM it is advisable to disable them. Once you disable visual effects you can notice immediate performance boost on the system.

6. Restart the Computer

By a simple restart you can notice a large improvement in RAM performance. When the computer is restarted, all of the RAM hungry applications including those which are running on the background will be stopped. Due to this the memory present on your RAM will be cleared. This is especially recommended for users who use their computer for a prolonged period of time. Perhaps it is a good habit to restart your computer often.
