1. Perform SFC Scan


Corruption in system files can also result in the configuration registry database is corrupt error. Built in utility called SFC scan allows the system to scan and find corrupt system files (Even without the use of internet connection). Therefore, run this tool to check if solves the problem.


To perform SFC scan,

  1. Press '' Windows + R ''
  2. Type '' cmd '' Right click on it and Select Run as Administrator
  3. Type the command and Press Enter

2. Perform Clean boot


Some third party software can also interfere and cause this kind of error. According to users, they are able to fix this issue once they performed a clean boot scan. Running the system in clean boot state ensure that only minimum number of drivers and files are loaded. This excludes the problematic third party software. 


To perform clean boot,


  1. Press '' Windows + R ''
  2. Type '' msconfig '' and Press Enter
  3. Go to the Services tab
  4. Check '' Hide all Microsoft services '' 
  5. Press '' Disable all ''
  6. Go to the Startup tab
  7. Press Open task manager
  8. Go to the Startup tab
  9. Right click on each startup program
  10. Select Disable



3. Update Windows


If your windows operating system is not updated properly, you will probably encounter this error. Hence, you should install all the missing updates. This will make sure that you are not using the outdated version of windows. 



4. Repair Microsoft Office


If still you are unable to resolve the configuration registry database is corrupt error that means there is some underlaying system corruption. This can only be resolved by repairing Microsoft Office.


To repair Microsoft Office,


  1. Go to Start Menu
  2. Type '' control panel ''
  3. Select Programs
  4. Right click on Microsoft Office
  5. Choose Repair



5. Restore System


It is obvious that system registry has been damaged here. So as a final solution you can try performing system restore. This works by reverting your system back to the working state. However, this method will only work if a system restore point is created before.


To perform system restore,


  1. Press '' Windows + R ''
  2. Type '' System Restore ''
  3. Go to the System Protection tab
  4. Click on System Restore
  5. Check the box '' Show more restore points ''
  6. Press Next
