3. Perform SFC Scan


Another tool provided by Microsoft to fix system files is the System File Checker (SFC) scan. This tool essentially scans system files for logical and system errors. If problems are identified it replaces corrupted system files with a flawless copy. 

To perform SFC scan,
  1. Go to Start
  2. Type '' cmd '' 
  3. Right click on the results and select '' Run as Administrator ''
  4. Type the command,
                                     '' SFC/Scannow ''


4. Run Antivirus Scan


Even most secured PC is prone to virus attacks. Particularly, viruses are known to cause hard drive problems. Virus infections can cause several problems including windows detected a hard disk problem. Thus, removing the virus is one way to fix this issue. To remove viruses and make your computer secure you need to run the Antivirus scan. 


5. Reinstall Windows


If all the above mentioned solutions fail in solving this error then there is nothing that can be done except to reinstall windows.
